Love our planet!

Yesterday was Brian 's wedding day. I visited him at his home and captured a few shots of this auspicious moment of his lifetime. Congrats, Bro!

His apartment was a cozy one. Its walls were all painted earth and white. On a table, there were many tiny paper boxes place on it. Those boxes were all filled with folded papers from the "Pizza" and "Mc Donald" ( to name a few) brochures. When asked what were those for, Brian shared that those were all folded by his wife for putting in paper clips, staples, and unwanted stuff after meals like fish bones! :) That seemed to be the easiest and simplest thing they could do to save the trees.

Impressed and Inspired by his brilliant idea as well as the most recent mental impact on me after the latest "2012"movie, I just found out that for every ton of paper that is recycled , 17 trees live. So, before throwing that piece of paper in the trash, imagine how many trees you could save by starting a simple action. For me, I don't know if I could be such super heroin saving the world, but I can start with learning how to fold 1 piece of that unwanted paper for other purposes before throwing it into the bin straight away.
A few fast facts I read from Readers' Digest:
a. Food waste makes up 45% of Malaysia 's total waste.
b. 12 million barrels of oil are used to make 88.5 billion plastic bags consumed in the US p.a.
c. The Phillipines generates more than 20,000 tonnes of garbage daily, enough to fill 7 big
landfills a year!

  1. And soon we have to pay for plastic bags at supermarkets. Do you carry enough eco-bag when you go market sis? Should start learning when you are in SG! Let's do our bit to make the earth a better place to live :)
